Following the successful cooperation in 2019, Esprit and UN Women combine forces once again in support of gender equality, to challenge gender bias and promote women in business.
Generation Equality starts now!
Aligned with the brand core value Esprit supports the UN Women’s global Generation Equality campaign.
Esprit's Spring 2020 campaign, titled #YouRule, seeks to highlight the topic, aiming to unify young activists and visionaries to stand for women's rights and achieve equality via wide spread public appeal. Advocating for more women to participate in competitive sport, she encourages others to assume positions of leadership and overcome gender-based hurdles.
Joint events in three European cities
The campaign kicks off with gender equality themed panel discussions, across three European countries.
On March 5th we celebrated International Women's Day at the headquarters of Esprit NL in Amsterdam, together with UN Women. Marian Spier hosted the discussion How can we unstereotype the perception of women in the media? There was an amazing international panel consisting of Madeleijn van den Nieuwenhuizen (Zeikschrift), Debby Gerritsen (editor-in-chief VIVA), Eline Munck (Belgian actress, singer and entrepeneur), Laurianne Melierre (journalist) and Marije Cornelissen (Director UN Women NL).
