The second generation of Esprit’s limited capsule collection with an 80s vibe
 

Remember those days when you counted down the minutes until you could meet with your clique after school? Days when anything seemed possible as long as your best mates were by your side? When you believed that life would continue exactly as it was in these moments? Now, Esprit is reviving that carefree feeling again with the second drop of its limited #Throwback capsule collection. Contemporary streetwear elements are combined with heritage styles from the 80s for a cool take on nostalgia. The collection will exclusively launch at the Esprit online store in April 2020.

 

 

From skintight cycling shorts and boxy crop tops to baggy sweatshirts, the cuts and garments in the capsule collection boast genuine 80s flair. This is further underlined by the colors – soft shades like lilac, mint green and pastel pink are combined with black and off-white. Graphic designs typical of the 80s and comic-like prints depicting holidays scenes add a special touch to the collection pieces. Of course, there are two more musts: large logos and neon detailing. Visors, lanyards, bandannas and a printed canvas shopping bag round off the look perfectly. Anyone who isn’t transported back through time at the sight of sleeveless hoodies, knee-length shorts and jumpsuits may be too young for a real #Throwback. But that’s all right because Generation Z will find that the 21 pieces with different color variations in the collection are also the definition of modern everyday fashion: basics with distinctive details and cool street-style elements. 

 

The campaign visuals and the accompanying film bring together Gen Z millennial vibes and the nostalgia of the American dream. A clique’s everyday moments in a diner recall a #Throwback to the intimacy between real friends and the seeming eternity of the perfect instant. Now, anyone can easily enjoy a trip down memory lane with the help of Esprit by slipping back into sweatshirts and other iconic 80s fashion.
